Learn how to spin wool into yarn on this hands-on spinning workshop with Helen Hickman of Nellie & Eve.

You’ll start by learning how to sort fleece, use hand and drum carders, then you’ll take a look at how the spinning wheel works.

There will be three different types of spinning wheel for you to try, or bring your own spinning wheel along.

After lunch you’ll get your hands on the spinning wheel and learn how to spin the prepared wool into yarn.

Helen will show you how to ply and you’ll use all equipment to create a mini skein of yarn to take home with you.

What’s included?

All equipment and materials are provided for the day.

A goody bag to take home which includes wool tops & hand carded wool fibre plus a discount codes to use at www.nellieandeve.com & at Bumblebees.

A delicious 2 course light lunch served at The Castle Hotel.

Refreshments available throughout the day.

Additional Info:

When booking please mention if you have dietary requirements.

The venue is on the 2nd floor and access is via a staircase only.

Public car parking is available a short walking distance from the venue.

You will be handling raw fleece and Lanolin.

Workshop is suitable for Adults.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before the course starts.

Helen has over 14 years experience of hand spinning and has been a tutor for over 8 years, formerly at Humble by Nature, Craft courses in Monmouthshire.
